Does anyone else take pictures of their mother's ham? No? Just me? OK then.
Well, it was delicious. I believe she basted it in brown sugar, brown mustard, orange juice and seasonings. But mom, if you are reading, correct me if I am wrong.
My mother gave me a mountain of sliced ham to bring home. Now, comes the question, "What can I do with the leftover ham?" I will decide tomorrow. Stay tuned.
I actually basted it in pineapple juice, spicy brown mustard, brown sugar, honey and minced garlic cloves. Love, Mom (not anonymous)
ReplyDeleteYou are not alone, I took pictures of my Mom's Easter ham :) I like to make quiche with left over ham. If you have a food grinder you can grind it up and make ham salad for sandwiches. Its also really yummy in potato soup. Hope those ideas help!
ReplyDeleteHave you ever had a real "ham" burger. Grind up the ham in a food processor or blender and mix up just like beef hamberger meat to make patties, then cook as a hamberger patty (your choice of fry, broil, bake, or grill). Umm, now that's a "HAM"burger!
ReplyDeleteA real hamburger. Never thought of that. Hmmm. I will definately have to try that one. I love making hamburgers with turkey meat and creamy blue cheese dressing. I will let you know how the real hamburgers turn out- Maybe I will infuse it with a peanut garlic dressing this time. Thanks!
ReplyDeleteNevermind. The peanut idea sounds weird. I will experiment later and let you know. So far , I think I may make mac & cheese with ham, real hamburgers, egg & ham crock scrambles for morning and then.....
ReplyDeleteYes, I thought the peanut idea sounded weird too. How about a slice of pineapple on top of the real "ham"berger especially if the ham was basted with pineapple juice. You have me wanting to bake a ham just to grind up the meat, LOL. - Hope you enjoy whatever it is you decide to do. - Sheila
ReplyDeletebtw - I was the ananymous that suggested the real "ham"berger. I did that for my family when they were all home, now it's just me so I probably will not be baking a whole ham, LOL.
ReplyDeleteSheila- Yeah I wonder what came over me when I said Peanut... Pineapple slices that are grilled sound so much better. Thanks for the suggestion
